Vanilla Bean Waffles with Cherry Compote Recipe:- I don’t hoard more than 99 percent of the stuff that I possess or have. Despite the fact that my photographs are not very designed, I am a minimalist at heart because I enjoy simplicity, I despise clutter, and I am a minimalist. There are always a few crucial items that I hoard like it’s my job, and two of those items are featured in this recipe. I am the exact same way in the kitchen as you are, but there are always that few key stuff.
Vanilla Bean Waffles with Cherry Compote Recipe
I go a little bit wild and spend a lot more than I should when the second cherry season begins. Throughout the day, M and I will both take a bowl of them and snack on them. For me, they are the ideal fruit snack to have on hand. Aside from that, I have a history of stockpiling vanilla beans. The vanilla bean is substituted for vanilla essence whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I really like how the vanilla bean, in addition to imparting a wonderful vanilla flavor, also contributes more flecks to the meal as a whole. In my opinion, the vanilla bean flavor is more noticeable than the vanilla extract. It is the cherry topping that is the most important part of this recipe; but, don’t let that deceive you; the waffles are delicious as well!
WAFFLES WITH VANILLA BEAN CHERRIES
- ½ cup whole wheat pastry flour
- ¼ cup oat flour
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ cup mlk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, cooled slightly
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 cups pitted and halved cherries
- 1 vanilla bean
- Toast Pecans, for topping
- Extra Maple Syrup, for serving
- Preheat the waffle iron. In a bowl, whisk together the flours, whole oats, baking powder, and sea salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until combined but with a few lumps, being careful not to over mix. If batter is thick, add up to ¼ cup of milk, one tablespoon at a time, to thin the batter out (it should be pourable but not thin).
- Pour half of the batter into the waffle iron and cook per the waffle iron directions. Keep finished waffles on a baking tray in a 200 ̊F oven until ready to serve.
- While waffles are cooking, combined the butter, maple syrup, and cherries in a sauce pan or skillet. Half the vanilla bean and scrape out the seeds into the cherry mixture. Heat over medium-low heat until cherries are tender.
- Top waffles with cherry mixture, toasted pecans, and extra maple syrup as needed.
Cherry mixture, toasted pecans, and additional maple syrup, if necessary, should be sprinkled on top of waffles.
