Testy Air Fryer Steak With Garlic Butter Recipe

Ingredients

AD
  • 2 striploin steaks (1″ thick)
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • salt and pepper

Garlic Butter

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 clove garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

Take the steak out of the fridge and give it ten to fifteen minutes to come to room temperature. If desired, trim fat from the edges.

After 5 to 10 minutes, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Coat the steaks with oil and liberally season with salt and pepper (or season to taste).

After opening the basket, place the steaks inside and cook for 10 to 14 minutes, depending on how done you want them to be (10 minutes for medium-rare, 12 minutes for medium, and 14 minutes for medium-well).

In the interim, mix butter, parsley, and garlic.

Take the steaks out of the air fryer and give them five to ten minutes to rest before slicing. Accompany with a side of garlic butter.

Notes

Warm the beef to room temperature. To get the steak to room temperature, I always leave it out on the counter for ten to fifteen minutes before cooking. This promotes more even cooking!

Get the air fryer ready. Before adding the meat, you want the air fryer to be hot so that the meat cooks through quickly. The meat may burn on the exterior before it cooks through if the air fryer is not preheated.

Take out the meat immediately. As soon as the steak is done, remove it from the basket to avoid letting the residual heat continue to cook it.

Give it a break. Before slicing, let the steak rest for five to ten minutes to allow the moisture to re-distribute. You’ll get dry meat if you cut into it too soon.

Storage

Cooked steak leftovers can be stored in the freezer for up to three months or for three to four days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If it’s frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator before reheating it in the oven, a skillet over the stove or the air fryer again until it’s well heated.

FAQs

What cut of meat to use?

I use striploin steaks that are 1″ thick, but you may use other cuts as well. Try steaks of different sizes, such as sirloin, ribeye, or strip steak; just be aware that they will cook in different amounts of time.

How long does it take to cook steak in the air fryer?

The steak can be cooked for 10 to 14 minutes, depending on your preference for doneness! I cook medium-rare for ten minutes, medium-well for twelve, and medium-well for fourteen. Remember that these instructions only apply to steaks that are 1″ thick.

Do you need to flip steak in an air fryer?

Though it is not required, you can if you so like. Every time I prepare a steak, it turns out flawlessly because I leave it just how it is!
