Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¾ cup warm water

For the sauce:

  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the toppings:

  • 1 large ripe tomato, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling

Instructions:

Get the dough ready:

Add the yeast, sugar, and warm water to a large mixing basin. Until it foams, let it sit for five to ten minutes. To the yeast mixture, add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir to form a dough.

After transferring the dough to a surface dusted with flour, knead it for five to seven minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth. After putting the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and covering it with a fresh kitchen towel, let it rise in a warm location for one to one and a half hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Get the sauce ready:

In a saucepan, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Once aromatic, add the minced garlic and sauté it for one to two minutes. Add the dried oregano, crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper and stir. The sauce should thicken after simmering for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring now and then. Before using, remove off the heat and allow the sauce to cool somewhat.

Set the Oven’s Temperature to 475°F (245°C). While the oven is preheating, place a pizza stone or an upside-down baking sheet inside.
Roll out the Dough: Punch down the dough once it has risen and place it on a surface dusted with flour.

Nutrition Tips:

Put together the pizza by: Take the dough that has been rolled out and place it on a sheet of parchment paper. A thin border should be left around the sides of the dough, and the tomato sauce should be spread evenly over the dough.

To finish off the sauce, arrange the sliced tomatoes and fresh mozzarella in a decorative pattern. Toss the fresh basil leaves onto the pizza and then tear them up into smaller pieces. The top should be topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake for twelve to fifteen minutes, or until the crust is a golden brown colour and the cheese is bubbling and melted respectively. To serve, take the pizza out of the oven once it has finished baking and drizzle it with extra virgin olive oil then serve.

You should wait a few minutes before slicing the pizza so that it may cool down. The Super Margherita pizza that you made at home is excellent, so serve it hot and enjoy it to the fullest! Before placing the pizza on the baking sheet or pizza stone that has been warmed in the oven, carefully transfer the pizza that is on the parchment paper.
