Statham, Stallone and Ayer’s Next Film Finds Studio After Beekeeper Success: David Ayer is going to work with action star Jason Statham again on the movie Levon’s Trade. The movie has found a new home after the success of The Beekeeper. The screenplay was written by Sylvester Stallone, who worked with Statham on The Expendables, and is based on the first book in Chuck Dixon’s Levon Cade series.
It gives Statham another great chance to show off his action skills. Finally, The Beekeeper, Statham’s first work with Ayer, has been getting mostly good reviews from critics and has already made $75 million at the box office in its first 10 days.

According to Deadline, Amazon and MGM have made a good deal where the studio will have the rights to both show Levon’s Trade in theaters in the U.S. and stream it in a number of important international markets. Black Bear, the company that made the movie, is said to have also sold the rights to show it in theaters around the world to several different companies.
Amazon MGM has signed on for a major theatrical release. This comes right after the studio was criticized for not giving director Doug Liman the same chance for the upcoming Road House remake. Dixon has had a lot of his work made into movies because he is one of the most prolific comic book writers in the world.
He created the famous Batman villain Bane, who was played by Tom Hardy in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” and the groundbreaking DC superhero team Birds of Prey. His work has left an indelible mark on pop culture. Dixon’s version of Levon’s Trade looks like it will be just as exciting. The story is about a former black-ops agent who wants to leave his job but gets caught up in a world of criminal plots and vigilante justice.
Could Levon’s Trade Become Amazon’s Next Big Franchise?
Dixon’s original idea and the acting skills of Statham, Ayer, and Stallone could make Levon’s Trade an exciting action thriller. The movie could also be the start of a new long-running franchise. Dixon’s series has 11 books so far, and a 12th one is set to come out in February of this year. There is more than enough material for Statham to keep playing the part for years to come. Because Amazon is still doing well with Reacher, this seems even more likely.
Movie studios are looking to invest in long-running film franchises instead of one-off action movies. This means that Amazon MGM’s interest in Levon’s Trade could be based on a lot more than just this one movie. Right now, there are no signs that the Levon Cade series will be turned into more movies after this one. But if it does as well as The Beekeeper, there will almost certainly be interest in more movies in the series.
