Instructions

Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). First, lightly grease a baking sheet, then line it with parchment paper or aluminium foil and set it aside. Before beginning to prepare the oyster crackers, spread them out in a uniform layer across the baking sheet that has been prepared.

To prepare toffee, melt the butter in a saucepan of medium size over a heat setting of medium. When the mixture reaches a boil, add the brown sugar and whisk it in throughout the process. The mixture should be allowed to continue cooking for three to four minutes while being stirred regularly until it becomes thicker and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Pour the Toffee: Using a spatula, carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the oyster crackers. To ensure that all of the crackers are covered, spread the mixture out. Bake: After the oven has been prepared, place the baking sheet inside and bake for five to seven minutes, or until the toffee is bubbling continuously all over.

After removing the baking sheet from the oven, immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. This will start the chocolate addition process. Allow them to sit for one minute so that they can melt, and then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate in an even layer over the crackers that have been covered in toffee.

The chocolate should be sprinkled with sea salt while it is still warm. This will provide the ideal combination of sweet and salty flavours for the final product.

Allow the toffee bark to completely cool at room temperature before breaking it open. Alternatively, you can place it in the refrigerator to allow it to set. After it has completely hardened, you can enjoy it by breaking it up into pieces.

Tips

It is much easier to clean up after using a baking sheet that has been lined, and it also ensures that the toffee bark will slide off the pan without any problem. Toffee is the subject of your attention. In a very short period of time, the toffee can go from being fantastic to being burned, thus it is important to take precautions to avoid burning it.

It is imperative that you choose chocolate of a superior quality. Consider using chocolate chips or bars of a higher quality if you want your toffee bark to have an even more delicious flavour. To add extra flavour and texture to the melted chocolate, you can sprinkle some candy pieces, nuts, or dried fruit on top of the chocolate. This is one example of a variation.
