Instructions

  • Getting the pastry dough ready is the first step. Flour and salt should be mixed together in a bowl for mixing. Incorporate the butter cubes that have been cold into the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or a fork, chop the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the cold water in increments of one tablespoon at a time while continuing to knead the dough until it comes together. To chill the dough for at least half an hour, roll it into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap, and place it in the refrigerator.

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Butter should be used to lightly grease a tart pan or individual tart molds before you begin the preparation process.
  • In order to avoid the pears from becoming brown, place them in a separate bowl and mix them with lemon juice. To ensure that the pears are evenly covered, add the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch, and then toss the mixture.

  • Roll out the chilled pastry dough to a thickness of approximately 1/8 inch on a surface that has been dusted with flour. Create rings of dough that are slightly larger than the tart pans you will be using.
  • Each tart pan should be lined with the dough rounds, and they should be gently pressed to fit. Excess dough that is hanging over the edges should be trimmed.

  • When you are inside the tart shells, arrange the pear slices in a way that overlaps each other.
  • The pear tarts should be baked in an oven that has been prepared for twenty-five to thirty minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are soft.

  • Once the tarts have finished baking, take them out of the oven and place them on a wire rack to cool down slightly.
  • In order to add a splash of color and taste to the pear tarts, dust them with powdered sugar and garnish them with fresh mint leaves before serving this dish.

These pear tarts are sweet and healthy at the same time. Pears have a lot of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, which are good for your nervous system and digestive system. Whole wheat flour gives fiber and minerals like iron and magnesium to the pastry crust when it is made with it. But because this recipe calls for all-purpose flour, these tarts should only be eaten in small amounts as part of a healthy diet.
