Michigan woman found out on Facebook she won a $1 million Powerball prize
“My boyfriend and I were at Andale, and he was playing Club Keno, so I chose to play Powerball,” Vackaro told the draw. “Usually I play easy pick numbers, but since we were just hanging out having a drink, I decided to take the time to pick my own numbers.”
Vackaro had no idea that picking her own numbers would make her a millionaire.
The March 2 drawing had white balls 3, 18, 27, 36, and 53. Vackaro chose those numbers by hand.
“The next morning, I was scrolling Facebook and saw a post about a winning Powerball ticket that was sold at Andale,” said Vackaro. “The winning numbers were written in the post, and I knew what they were right away.” I scanned my ticket on the Lottery App. I was shaking so hard when I saw $1 million with confetti on the screen! I told my fiancé and daughters the good news over the phone.
Vackaro plans to celebrate her Powerball win with family
Vackaro went to the Michigan Lottery Headquarters to collect her prize. There, she told lottery officials how she planned to spend the $1 million.
Vackaro plans to take a trip with her family and save the rest of the money.
Vackaro told the lottery officials that her daily life has changed since she found out she won the Powerball.
Vackaro said, “I have been in a fog the last few days.” I haven’t been able to eat or sleep because I’m so scared and excited!
