Greek Frittata Recipe :-A delicious and fun brunch recipe, Mediterranean Frittata is made with eggs and has a lot of Mediterranean taste! The best way to get rid of food in the fridge is to sauté it and then bake it with eggs. This is one of my favorite things to make for lunch with a lot of people or to make ahead for the week.
Greek Frittata Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- The ingredients required for this recipe are as follows:
- 8 eggs, ¼ cup of full-fat Greek yogurt
- ½ teaspoon of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper,
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil,
- 2 to 3 chopped green onions,
- 1 cup of packed baby spinach,
- 1 minced garlic clove,
- ½ cup of feta cheese divided,
- 4 tablespoons of sundried tomatoes in oil divided,
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Half a cup of chopped parsley
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Put the oven on to a temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Whisk the egg, yogurt, salt, and pepper together, and then set the mixture aside. The egg should be the first ingredient.
- A large cast iron or oven-safe pan with a diameter of ten inches should be used to perform the preheating of the olive oil. The green onions should be added after approximately three to five minutes, and the simmering process should continue until the green onions have grown more soft.
- Continue cooking for roughly two to three minutes more after adding the spinach and garlic, or until the spinach starts to wilt, whichever comes first.
- Following the completion of the cooking process for the vegetables, layer the egg mixture on top of them.
- To the mixture, feta cheese and sundried tomatoes should be added in proportions that are equal to one another.
- The cake should be baked in an oven that has been preheated for around ten to twelve minutes, with the door open, until the center is solid and does not have any jiggly consistency.
- After that, the remaining feta cheese and sun-dried tomatoes should be placed to the top, and parsley should be sprinkled on top of it. Serve as quickly as you possibly can.
HOW TO MAKE MEDITERRANEAN FRITTATA:
- In order to prepare the egg combination, combine all of the components.
- After the onions, garlic, and spinach have become tender, sauté them.
- The egg mixture should be poured over top, and then half of the feta and sun-dried tomatoes should be added.
- Cook in an oven that has been preheated until it is completely done.
- To finish, sprinkle the remaining feta cheese and sun-dried tomatoes on top, and then sprinkle some chopped parsley on top.
TIPS FOR MAKING A FRITTATA:
1 . Use an oven safe skillet for this recipe.
- It is important to avoid using anything that has plastic handles that are prone to melting because the frittata is cooked both on the stovetop and in the oven.
2 . Cook the vegetables well before adding the egg mixture.Â
- Getting rid of any excess liquid that may otherwise cause your frittata to become soggy is facilitated by this method.
3 . Let the frittata stand for 5 minutes
- prior to slicing it as a means of making it more solid.
4 . Don’t skip the Greek yogurt.Â
- It results in a texture that is full of air and creamy. There is also the option of using cream, sour cream, or whole milk.
NOTES:
- For storage, any leftovers should be placed in a container that is airtight. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- In addition, the frittata can be frozen for up to three months if you follow the instructions provided. To re-heat, thaw in the refrigerator for a full night, then bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit until it is completely heated.
- However, I would advise against reheating the vegetables in the microwave because it has the potential to release an excessive amount of moisture from the vegetables and has a rubbery feel after being frozen.
- The recipe should be followed exactly as written for the best possible outcomes. Nevertheless, the following are some conventional alternatives that would be suitable for use in this recipe.
- To achieve a more decadent consistency, you might use ricotta or sour cream for Greek yogurt. There is also the option of using conventional milk or milk made from plants.
- You are free to use any other vegetables in place of the vegetables.
- You are free to substitute any other cheese you choose for the cheese in this recipe.
