Easy Stovetop Peach Cobbler Recipe – Step by Step Guide

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup(113 g) butter
  • 4 cups(620 g) peaches, fresh, frozen and thawed, or canned
  • 1/2 cup(99 g) sugar
Peach Cobbler Batter

  • 1 cup(120 g) flour
  • 1 cup (198 g) sugar
  • 2 teaspoons(8 g) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 g)
  • 1 cup(227 g) milk
Optional Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon(5 g) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) ground cinnamon

Instructions

Get ready. Warm the oven up to 350º F. Put the baking dish in the oven while it heats up and add the sliced butter. This will melt the butter. Once the butter has softened, take the baking dish out of the oven.

Get the fruit ready. Place fresh peaches (peeled and sliced) and 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl. Toss to mix. The same steps should be taken if you use frozen peaches that have been warmed.

When you use canned peaches, drain the juices from one can and only use the juices from that one can.

Make the batter for the cobbler. The flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt should all be mixed together with a whisk.

Add the milk and mix it in with a whisk until it’s smooth. Leave out the baking powder and salt if you use self-rising flour.

Put in peaches. Spread the peaches out evenly over the hot butter as you pour them on top of it. Don’t stir.

Add the batter for the cobbler. Do not mix as you pour the cobbler batter over the peaches. Bake. About 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is just barely golden brown.

Take it out of the oven and give it three minutes to rest. Do it. Warm up and serve.

Notes

How to Prepare Ahead of Time and Freeze To get ahead. Bake it and put it in the fridge with a lid on top. Warm it up again and serve.

To get cold. Cool fully after baking in a dish that can go in the freezer. Use freezer-safe wrap and foil on top to make a tight package.

Put it in the freezer for three months. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight before you serve it. Warm it up again and serve.

To warm up. Cover with foil and heat in the oven until hot all the way through, about 20 minutes. To warm something up in the microwave, heat it for 30 seconds at a time until it’s warm in a device that can go in the microwave.

Peach Cobbler that doesn’t have gluten. For baking, use your favorite gluten-free flour instead.
Peach Cobbler without dairy. No-dairy milk, like oat milk, and dairy-free butter can be used instead.

Peach Cobbler with Less Sugar. You can use your favorite sugar-free baking product instead of sugar in the recipe.

Use 1 cup of self-rising flour instead of the baking powder and salt that are called for in the recipe.
