I’ve been away from the blog for a while, but I’m back at work today and fully recovered from Christmas and the holidays! We had an incredible amount of food during Christmas that you guys won’t believe.

Easy Shrimp And Broccoli Recipe

I promise myself every year that I won’t feel bad about all the food I’ve had over the holidays, but it never actually works out that way. Naturally, I’ve made a list of my goals for the new year, and eating healthier overall and losing weight are among them! So even though it’s freezing outside and all I want to do is curl up on the couch with tons of comfort food, I’m working on that right now!

I’ve also made a note of a resolution for the new year: to start meal planning in order to cut down on food waste. I’m planning to follow this plan in January in order to eat healthily and get back on track following the holidays!

FAQs

What ingredients do I need for this shrimp and broccoli recipe?

Peel and deveined shrimp, raw broccoli florets, garlic, soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), sesame oil, cornstarch, water, and, if desired, hot sauce (sriracha or red pepper flakes) are required.

Can I use frozen shrimp and broccoli?

Yes, if fresh ingredients aren’t available, you may use frozen shrimp and broccoli. Just be careful to drain any extra water from the broccoli and fully defrost the shrimp before cooking.

How should I cook the shrimp?

The shrimp can be rapidly cooked in with oil in a heated skillet or wok. Stir-fry the shrimp for two to three minutes on each side, or until they become opaque and pink. They might turn rubbery if you overcook them, so proceed with caution.

Do I need to blanch the broccoli before adding it to the recipe?

Broccoli doesn’t always need to be blanched before being stir-fried, especially if you like it crunchy. But, you can blanch the broccoli for one or two minutes in boiling water before adding it to the skillet if you’d rather it be softer.
