In other words, it is a recipe. Additionally, it comes with a sauce that is fairly creamy and will coat each and every piece of chicken that you consume. This sauce is included with the dish. In a window of time that is less than thirty minutes, it is possible to achieve the task of making preparations in a manner that is both quick and uncomplicated.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. white button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut in strips
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 oz. regular or reduced-fat plain cream cheese

Instruction

First, oil should be heated in a big skillet over medium heat, and then the oil should be added. After the mushrooms and onions have been sauteed for four to five minutes, add them to the pan. Also, saute the garlic for an extra thirty seconds after the initial thirty seconds.

While this is going on, the chicken should be split into strips, and then it should be seasoned with salt and pepper according to your preference. Put the chicken strips that have been seasoned into the pan after first bringing the temperature up to medium-high. After that, add the chicken strips.

The chicken strips should be seared for six to eight minutes or until they become a golden brown colour, flipping them once during the cooking process.
Following the addition of the cream cheese and chicken broth, continue whisking the mixture until the cream cheese has melted and been well combined with the other ingredients.

Cover the skillet, turn the heat down to low, and continue cooking the chicken for another two to three minutes, or until it is completely cooked through. Once the mozzarella has been sprinkled over the entire skillet, the skillet should be covered. Using a meat thermometer, the temperature should be higher than 165 degrees Fahrenheit during the entire process.

Salt and pepper should be added to taste, and the seasoning should be adjusted accordingly. When serving, place the chicken and mushrooms on top of rice that has been steamed, and if desired, garnish with parsley.

Notes

Mushrooms: Although I really enjoy the mushrooms that are included in this recipe, you are free to omit them if you do not have any on hand or if you simply do not like them. When I cooked this dish in the past, I did not include mushrooms, but it was still great.

Cream cheese: I make use of the cream cheese that has a fat content of â…“, and it is incredibly creamy. Using fat-free cream cheese is not something I would advocate, but if you favour the genuine thing, you should go for it.

Broth: On the off chance that you do not possess any chicken broth, you may utilise veggie broth instead, or you could simply use water.

Cheese: Although I really enjoy the melty mozzarella that goes on top, you might also try this dish with grated Parmesan cheese if that is more your style.

Herbs: The parsley is not only useful as a garnish, but it also contributes a pleasant freshness of herbs. There is no obligation to include it, and if you choose, you may put some dry herbs as a flavour on the chicken instead.

Serving: On top of cooked brown or white rice, this dish is delicious; but, you could also use quinoa, polenta, or mashed potatoes as an alternative. You may serve this dish with a variety of delicious vegetable sides, including roasted vegetables, steamed broccoli, and peas.

Leftovers: The refrigerator can hold this for four to five days. It is helpful to slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces before reheating it in the microwave. This will ensure that the chicken is heated evenly before being reheated.
