In this post, I will demonstrate how I make use of rotisserie chicken to achieve a high level of flavor without the need to marinade the chicken. I will explain how I make use of this strategy in the following paragraphs.

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken :

To prepare the chicken breast, slice it and place it in a bowl. Add olive oil, chopped garlic, dried oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper to the chicken breast. To ensure that the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade, make sure to mix it thoroughly. You should cover the bowl and allow it to marinade in the refrigerator for at least half an hour, or allow it to marinate overnight for the best possible flavour.

Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce :

Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dried dill, salt, and pepper should be mixed together in a separate bowl containing the ingredients. After thoroughly combining, mix. Take a taste, and if necessary, adjust the seasoning. Cover and place in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it.

Cook the Chicken :

Prepare the grill pan or a big skillet by heating it over medium-high heat. When it is hot, arrange the chicken slices that have been marinated in a single layer. Cook the chicken for around five to seven minutes on each side, or until it is completely cooked through and has a lovely brown colour. Take the pan off the heat and set it aside.

Prepare the Pita Bread :

The rounds of pita bread can be warmed by either heating them in the microwave for thirty seconds or by lightly toasting them in a skillet for one minute on each side. Both methods are excellent options.

Assemble the Gyros :

Place a pita bread round that has been warmed on a plate. A generous amount of tzatziki sauce should be spooned onto the pita in the middle of the crust. A part of the chicken that has been cooked should be placed on top of the tzatziki sauce. The chicken should be topped with red onions, tomatoes, chopped lettuce, crumbled feta cheese, and Kalamata olives. Sliced tomatoes and red onions should also be used.
In order to enhance the flavour, you may want to sprinkle additional tzatziki sauce on top.

Serve and Enjoy :

Take the filling and fold the sides of the pita bread over it to create a wrap. Alternatively, you can roll it up like a burrito. As soon as possible, while the chicken gyros are still warm, serve them. With some additional tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping, you may enjoy your delicious homemade chicken gyros at your leisure.

Tips

To enhance the flavour of the chicken, you can squeeze some fresh lemon juice over it before serving it. This will add more flavour to the chicken. You have the ability to personalize your chicken gyros by adding additional toppings such as chopped cucumbers, bell peppers, or even spicy sauce for an additional amount of spice. If you have any leftover chicken gyros, you can keep them in the refrigerator for up to two days if you store them in an airtight container. The chicken should be reheated before the gyros are assembled once again.
