Ingredients

For the Sauce

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • Kosher salt to taste
For the Burgers

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup guacamole (store-bought or click for recipe)
  • 4 slices cheese we like pepper jack or cheddar
  • 1 cup pico de gallo (click for recipe)
  • 1 cup tortilla chips

Instructions

Put the sour cream, hot sauce, and a little salt in a small bowl and mix them together. Put away. ½ cup of sour cream, 1 tablespoon of hot sauce, and Kosher salt

Cut the beef into four equal pieces and form each into a ½-inch patiety. Be careful not to work the meat too much. If you want to keep the texture, just flatten them. 1 pound of ground chuck.

 

Warm the oven up to 200°F. Heat a grill pan over high heat and oil it a little. On one side, salt and pepper the burger patties. Place the seasoned side down in the pan.

Lightly press on the patties to make them touch the pan and caramelize. After about two minutes, the edges should start to turn gray. Add salt and pepper to the top, then turn it over.

 

Cook for two more minutes, or until the meat reaches 165°F on the inside. Put the patties on a plate that can handle heat and put it in the oven.

Do not use the oven. You can add the cheese to the patties before or after they are baked. In the same pan, toast the burger buns just a bit.

 

Take the top and bottom halves apart and spread burger sauce on both of them. 4 buns for hamburgers. Put guacamole on the bottom halves of the buns. One cup of guacamole

Cover the burgers with cheese and top with pico de gallo. Make sure you don’t add too much liquid when you add the pico. Use a slotted spoon or fork.

How to Store and Reheat 

Burger patties that have been left over can be kept in the fridge for up to 4 days in a container that doesn’t let air in. Put them back on the stove and heat them up in a nonstick pan until they are fully heated through. To make steam, add about 3 tablespoons of water to the pan. This will keep the patties from getting dry.
