Salads are like small pieces of art that are packed with a variety of taste combinations that are pleasant. The creation of a magnificent salad is within the ability of everybody, but the genuine beauty of the salad is entirely dependent on the quality of each individual component. Mastering the art of curating great salad components is the key to unlocking your natural salad-making brilliance.

  • 1 pound cooked and large diced chicken breast
  • 4 shelled and quartered hard-boiled eggs

Instructions

To prepare the ingredients, first cook the chicken breasts until the middle is no longer pink, and then dice them according to your preference. Eggs should be boiled to a hard boil, allowed to cool, then peeled and chopped. Crumble the bacon once it has been cooked until it is crispy. Separate the romaine lettuce, tomato, avocado, and green onions into small pieces.

Put together the salad by: To create the foundation of the salad, place the chopped romaine lettuce in a big salad bowl. Arrange the chicken pieces, chopped hard-boiled eggs, crumbled bacon, diced tomato, diced avocado, crumbled blue cheese, and chopped green onions in rows on top of the lettuce. Finally, sprinkle the lettuce with chopped green onions.

Put together the dressing by: Olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and pepper should be mixed together in a small bowl using a whisk until ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. When ready to serve, either drizzle the dressing over the salad or serve it on the side first. Give the salad a light toss so that the dressing may evenly coat all of the components.

Any more salt and pepper that may be required should be added. Enjoy the dish as soon as it is served!
The traditional Cobb salad is an excellent choice for a low-calorie lunch or dinner because it is loaded with flavour and nutrients. Allow yourself the freedom to personalise it by adding the ingredients that you enjoy the most or modifying the dressing to suit your tastes in terms of flavour. Have fun!

NOTES

Notes from the Chef: Although this salad is intended to be consumed immediately, it can be prepared to be consumed one day in advance if the components are kept separate after they have been prepared.
This item can be stored for up to three days if it is kept covered and undressed.

It is possible to store the mixture in the refrigerator for up to six days if you are able to keep all of the components separated and covered. When it comes to prepping the greens, the best method would be to use a salad spinner if you have one. The salad can also be dressed with ranch dressing or balsamic vinaigrette, all of which are acceptable options.
