Chocolate Pound Cake Recipe Step by Step Guide

For those who are passionate about chocolate, this is a lovely pleasure that can be savored either on its own or in conjunction with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Due to the fact that those lovely chocolate crumbs appear to melt into your tongue, this dish is one of my favourite. It’s quite similar to the cake version of velvet! My Chocolate Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Filling is another cake that you are going to like!

Ingredients

  • 230 grams (1 cup or 2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, roughly chopped
  • 300 grams (1 and 1/2 cupscaster sugar or granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 245 grams (1 and 3/4 cup) plain flour or all purpose flour
  • 60 grams (3/4 cup) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 160 ml (3/4 cup) full fat or whole milk

Instructions

The oven should be preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (360 degrees Fahrenheit) conventional or 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit) fan-forced. Prepare a bundt pan with a capacity of 10 to 12 cups by greasing it thoroughly with soft butter.

Butter, sugar, and vanilla extract should be added to a large mixing basin. The butter should be beaten with an electric mixer on a low speed until it is completely incorporated. After that, increase the speed to medium and continue beating for an additional one to two minutes, or until it becomes pale, creamy, and almost fluffy.

After adding the eggs one at a time and briefly beating them together to integrate them, scrape down the sides of the bowl using a spatula. It is not necessary to worry if the mixture becomes slightly lumpy at this stage.

Add the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to the flour mixture. At a slow speed, begin to combine the ingredients. Mix in some milk. Although you should continue to combine the cake batter until it is smooth and creamy, you should avoid overmixing it.

After you have prepped the pan, pour the cake batter into it and smooth up the top. The cake should be baked for around forty to forty-five minutes, or until a spear put into the center of the cake provides a mostly clean result.

The cake should be allowed to cool in the Bundt pan for at least fifteen minutes before being carefully turned out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
