Instructions

Warm the oven up to 375°F. To make the bottom of the pie shell even, spread out the pecans and chocolate chips.

Add the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt to a large bowl and mix them together using a whisk. Put the chocolate chips and pecans on top.

After baking for 30 minutes, watch out as you put a pie shield on top of the crust. It will take another 20 to 25 minutes of baking until the filling is set.

Take it out of the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then cut it into pieces and serve. Put the lid on it and put it in the fridge for up to two days.

How to Freeze Chocolate Pecan Pie

Pecan pie that has been baked freezes well for up to two months. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight, then bring it to room temperature before serving. To make the crust crisp again, you can also do it in a 300°F oven.

Tips for Recipe

If your pie’s filling looks gooey in the middle, make sure to bake it for longer. When you move the pie around, the middle shouldn’t move around much. Keep baking it and check it every five minutes to see if it’s done.

It’s possible that there aren’t enough eggs in the pie or that the eggs are old or too small. Eggs help the dough stick together and make the pie solid.

You should bake your crust ahead of time if you want the bottom of the pie to be crispier.
Place the pie on the bottom rack and use a shield to protect the edges of the crust from getting too brown.
