Chocolate Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Bars Recipe – Simple Recipe Ever

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas, 1 ½ cups mashed
  • ½ cup creamy almond butter, *
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup chocolate chips, optional**
  • ¼ tsp sea salt, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare a square baking pan of 8 inches in diameter by lining it with a piece of parchment paper and preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

To achieve a creamy consistency, mash the ripe bananas in a big bowl. Mix the wet ingredients together until they are thoroughly blended, then stir in the almond butter (and pure maple syrup, if you are adding it).

The dry ingredients should be added to the mixing bowl, which includes the quick oats, cocoa powder, sea salt, and cinnamon, if you are using it.

The batter should be thickened by mixing. If you are going to add chocolate chips, stir them in with the mixture.

Transfer the chocolate banana oat mixture to the baking dish that has been prepared, and spread it out making sure that it is evenly distributed.

You can sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top if you so wish. Bake on the middle shelf of an oven that has been warmed for 12 to 16 minutes, or until the sides have become hard (I bake mine for 15 minutes).

It is recommended that the chocolate oatmeal bars be allowed to reach room temperature before being sliced and served.
