Ingredients :

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs (boneless skinless thighs, or substitute boneless skinless chicken breasts)
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • ¼ teaspoon each, salt & pepper
  • â…” cup sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • â…“ cup water
  • 1½ tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons of cold water

 

Instructions :

Put the chicken legs in a medium-sized bowl and add the canola oil. Toss the parts together. Add pepper and salt.
Set a big pot or grill pan on high heat. Also, put the water, garlic powder, soy sauce, lemon juice, and sugar in a different bowl. Use a stir to mix.

Before you add the chicken legs, make sure the pan is hot. Cook each side for three to five minutes.
Put the sauce mix in a different pan and bring it to a boil while the chicken is cooking.

Turn the heat down to medium-low and let it cook for two to three minutes.
Add the cornflower and 2 tablespoons of cold water to a small bowl and mix them well. Mix the slurry into the sauce that is already boiling.

The sauce needs to keep cooking on low heat until it gets thicker.
Once the sauce has thickened, put the chicken slices on top of it and serve right away.

 

Notes :

To store, let your leftovers cool down all the way before putting them in Tupperware and putting them in the fridge for up to three days.
To freeze: To freeze chicken leftovers, just put them in a jar that can go in the freezer.
You can eat them within a month. Let them thaw before you heat them up. To reheat, just put the food back in the microwave and heat it up until it’s hot.
