Best Asian Style Roasted Quail Recipe – Step by Step Guide

Ingredients

  • 6 quails
  • 2 tablespoon BBQ sauce (I used honey garlic)
  • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 3 tablespoon sesame oil (dark)
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (fresh, minced)
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

In a large plastic bag with a zip-top closure, combine all of the ingredients, with the exception of the quail and the vegetable oil. Then, add the quail.

After sealing, chill for half an hour while turning it occasionally. Put the oven on to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a Dutch oven or a large skillet that can go in the oven, bring the oil to a temperature that is between medium and high.

It is important to sear the quail on all sides until it is brown, and you should turn it frequently because quails are so small that they can burn very quickly. The marinade that is left over should be saved.

Cover the oven and roast the quail for twenty to thirty minutes, or until the quail reaches the desired doneness.

While this is going on, pour the marinade into a small pot and let it simmer over medium heat for ten minutes. After that, it should thin out a little bit.
