Banana French Toast – Simplest Recipe Ever
Ingredients
For the Cinnamon Banana French Toast
- 1 ripe banana
- 3⁄4 cup (180 ml.) non-dairy milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½tsp cinnamon
- 6 – 7 slices gluten-free bread (or gf-toast
- Coconut oil for frying
For serving (all optional)
- Banana slices
- Berries
- Nut butter
- Maple Syrup
- Non-dairy yogurt
- Shredded coconut
- Chopped nuts
Introduction
In a small blender, combine the banana, egg, nondairy milk, baking powder, and cinnamon; process until smooth. Move to a shallow dish to make it convenient to dip the bread into it.
Melt a small amount of coconut oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat (I used around 2 tsp for the whole batch). After dipping each bread piece in the French toast batter on both sides, place it in the pan to fry. Fry for two to three minutes on one side, or until golden, then turn.
Another option would be to reheat the French toast in the oven while you cook the remaining portions.
Place the French toasts on a platter and top with any or all of the toppings listed below, to your preference! Have fun!

Why is this Cinnamon Banana French Toast good for you?
Banana
Bananas are sweet, creamy, and beloved by most people. However, the health advantages of them go far beyond “just” taste superb. A banana’s benefits to cardiovascular health are numerous. The first advantage of this has to do with the high potassium content of bananas. It has been demonstrated that potassium normalizes blood pressure, supporting heart health. One kind of sterol that is present in bananas provides the second advantage.
A sterol is a type of membrane that can be found in microbes, plants, and mammals. These sterols resemble cholesterol in appearance and have the ability to prevent the body from absorbing dietary cholesterol, hence regulating blood cholesterol levels. Fiber is the final cardiovascular benefit associated with bananas. A third or more of the fiber in bananas is soluble in water. It has been demonstrated that soluble fiber reduces the risk of heart disease. Not only are bananas incredibly tasty, but they are also a heart health powerhouse!
