Apricot Leather Recipe :- An all-time favourite of mine from my youth, this recipe for handmade fruit leather was something that my family and I would prepare every single summer. This dish is made with fresh fruit, it is simple to prepare, and all you need is a few days of warm sunshine.
Apricot Leather Recipe
Dried fruit is a delicious treat that is more natural and less processed than store-bought fruit, making it an ideal choice for children. This makes it not only more nutritious but also a lot of fun to prepare. With your children, this is a wonderful summer project. In the Russian language, pastila is referred to as Пaстила. An old-fashioned method of storing fruit for the colder months. It’s a fantastic way to make use of summer fruit, especially when combined with fresh Kompot Juice.
Ingredients
- 3 cups chopped apricots
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
Instructions
Eight to ten apricots, roughly equivalent to three cups, should be washed and chopped. Apricots should be added to a small saucepan. One tablespoon of lemon juice should be sprinkled over the apricots.
Bring the sugar and water to a boil after adding them.
Simmer the mixture with the lid on for twenty minutes, stirring it occasionally to prevent it from overflowing.
Wait until it has cooled, and then purée it using a blender or a food processor. Paper parchment, plastic wrap or a silicone baking mat can be used to line a baking sheet that measures 18 inches by 13 inches.

Fill the tray with the apricot mixture and set it aside. The apricot mixture should be spread out using a spatula. Leave a border that is uncovered by a few inches. The fruit leather should be baked in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Fahrenheit for five hours, or until the surface of the leather is dry and somewhat tacky.
Perform a flip onto waxed or parchment paper using the fruit leather. Roll the strips that you have cut. Put in a plastic bag for storage. The spices that are used in this bread are wonderfully complementary to one another, and they give it a distinctive flavour that you will be desiring throughout the entire year.
The leftovers of fig bread freeze nicely, and the bread itself keeps its juicy quality even after being frozen. In other words, you can continue to enjoy your fig bread even after figs are no longer in season.

You can also make this dish with dried apricots rather than fresh ones if you prefer another option. All you need to do is make the following adjustments: To make this recipe, use two cups of dried apricots rather than fresh apricots.
The amount of water should be increased from half a cup to half a cup. To compensate for the fact that dried apricots are typically more sour than fresh apricots, you might want less lemon juice.
