A dish like apple cinnamon pancakes that pleases the senses and tastes good requires a certain level of skill. All the ingredients are vital, from the crunchy, tangy apples to the comforting aroma of cinnamon. Let’s carefully put this culinary masterpiece together, paying close attention to how each component functions as a whole to create a breakfast delight that will tantalise the senses and warm hearts.

Ingredients:

  • Pancake Batter:
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Apple Cinnamon Topping:
  • 2 medium apples (any variety you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Instructions:

Get the pancake batter ready. In a sizable mixing basin, thoroughly mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Lightly beat the egg in a another bowl and whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla essence. Mix well with a whisk.  Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and whisk just until blended. Take care not to overmix; some lumps are acceptable. While you make the apple cinnamon topping, set aside the batter.

Prepare the Cinnamon Apple Topping: Cut the apples into bite-sized pieces after peeling, core, and dicing them. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Incorporate the chopped apples, cinnamon powder, brown sugar, and a small amount of salt. Mix everything together.  Simmer the apples for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring now and then, or until they are soft but not mushy. To keep from browning, add lemon juice if preferred. After cooked, remove from the pan and keep warm while preparing the pancakes.

Let the pancakes cook: Turn up the heat to medium in a nonstick skillet or griddle. Apply a thin layer of cooking spray or butter to the surface. For each pancake, add roughly 1/4 cup of batter to the griddle. If necessary, spread the batter into a circle using the back of a spoon. Cook the pancakes for two to three minutes, or until the edges appear set and bubbles start to appear on the surface.

Using a spatula, carefully turn the pancakes, and continue cooking for another one to two minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.  While you cook the remaining batter, move the cooked pancakes to a platter and keep warm in a low oven. Put Together and Serve:

After every pancake is cooked, top the stack of pancakes with a spoonful of the warm apple cinnamon topping. You can dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup for an additional indulgent touch.  Serve right away and savour the exquisite blend of light pancakes, caramelised apples, and fragrant cinnamon.

Tips:

You may also incorporate grated apple into the batter for more apple flavour. To keep the pancakes from sticking, use a griddle or skillet that is non-stick. To ensure the pancakes cook through without burning, keep the heat on medium.
