Air Fryer Shredded Hash Browns Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds russet potatoes about 2 medium-sized potatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons oil.
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder.
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper.

Instructions

Prepare the potatoes. Peel and grate the potatoes first. Next, put the potato shreds in a big dish and pour cold water over them. Let the potatoes soak for ten minutes or more, preferably thirty.

Eliminate as much extra water as you can. When the potatoes are done, drain and give them a thorough rinse. This will assist in getting rid of the extra carbohydrates. Squeeze as much moisture out of the shredded potatoes using a clean, lint-free kitchen towel or cheesecloth. After patting the potatoes dry, place them in a sizable mixing basin.

Season with salt and pepper. Add oil, sea salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder to the potatoes to season them.

Fry by air. After transferring the potatoes into the air fryer basket, gently press down until the shredded potatoes form a single, equal layer.

Apply a little layer of cooking spray, such as Pam or olive oil spray, to the top of the hash browns for an extra crispy finish. The handmade hash browns should be air-fried at 360°F for 14–18 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.

Assist. Savor these crispy hash browns from the air fryer while they’re still hot. Have fun!

NOTES

Storage guidelines: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days in an airtight container. Return to a hot and crispy texture by heating for approximately five minutes at 360°F in the air fryer.

Instructions for freezing: Transfer the air-fried potatoes to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. If preferred, divide into separate portions. Freeze for a solid hour or two using a flash freeze. For up to three months, freeze after transferring to an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. Return from freezer and reheat immediately at 360°F for 5 to 8 minutes, or until hot and crispy once more.

FAQs

What should I use the grate the potatoes?

I usually use the largest grating side of a box grater, often known as a cheese grater. In case you don’t own a box grater, you may also use a large cup food processor fitted with a grating disk to shred raw potatoes.

What air fryer do you use?

I suggest and own the. Since getting it, I’ve used it nearly every day since I first bought it on Amazon.

Can I use frozen hash browns?

Since I have only made this dish with fresh potatoes, I haven’t personally tried it. If you attempt it and are successful, please let us know in the comments section below!
