Taco Lasagna Recipe :-Adding Mexican flavors to a traditional lasagna recipe makes taco lasagna a unique dish. Instead of lasagna noodles, we’re going against all the rules here. We use flour tortillas to split the layers in this dish instead. To get the right taste, we use taco seasoning on the beef and add Tex-Mex ingredients like black beans and diced tomatoes made in the Mexican way.

We leave out the ricotta and mozzarella cheeses to make this dish truly special. Instead, a mix of melty Mexican cheeses takes center stage, and the dish’s creamy part is made from refried beans. The food that comes out tastes like a taco but is cooked like lasagna.

Taco Lasagna Recipe -Easiest Recipe Ever

Ingredients :

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Mexican diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 6 flour tortillas (8 inches)
  • 1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
  • 3 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

Directions :

Add the onion, green pepper, and beef to a large pan. Cook over medium-low heat until the meat is no longer pink. Then, drain the meat. To make tacos, add water and taco sauce. It should boil.

Turn down the heat and let it simmer for two minutes with the lid off. Add tomatoes and black beans and mix well. Cover and let it cook for 10 minutes.

Put two tortillas in a 13×9-inch baking dish that has been oiled. Spread half of the beef mixture and half of the refried beans on the bread. Top with one cup of cheese. Add more layers. Add the rest of the tortillas and cheese on top.

Put the dish in the oven at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes, or until it’s hot all the way through and the cheese melts.

How to Store Taco Lasagna :

Cover any extra taco lasagna and put it in the fridge. It will stay good for two to three days that way. Use the microwave to warm up the leftovers.

How to Freeze Taco Lasagna :

You can freeze taco lasagne either hot or cold. Wrap each piece of baked taco lasagne in aluminium foil to freeze it. You can freeze them for up to three months if you put them in a bag that seals well. You can let the slices thaw overnight in the fridge or use the defrost mode on your microwave to reheat them from frozen.

If you want to make taco lasagna ahead of time, wrap the unbaked lasagna in foil and put it in the freezer. To use, let the dish thaw overnight in the fridge. Take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before you bake it. As told, bake the lasagna with taco filling for as long as it takes to reach 165° on a thermometer.
