- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup (113 g) mild cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- 6 strips bacon, cooked, divided
- 4 slices Texas toast (Or your bread of choice)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
Instructions
Turn the oven on to 425°F. Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet.
After preparing the baking sheet, coat the jalapeños with olive oil on all sides.
Roast the jalapeños for approximately 15 minutes, or until the skin starts to sear slightly.
Take out of the oven and leave to cool slightly.
Add onion powder, garlic salt, pepper, and cream cheese to a medium-sized mixing bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy.
Roughly slice the jalapenos and add them into the cream cheese mixture once they are cold enough to handle.
Toast one side of a piece of bread with butter. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture on the other side. Place three bacon slices and ½ cup of cheddar cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture. Place a second piece of bread on top and butter its exterior. Proceed with the remaining bread in the same manner.
Place the buttered sandwich in a skillet and cook for three to five minutes on each side, or until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasty. Serve right away.
FAQs
Can I Use Different Kinds of Bread?
Of course! I adore Texas toast with a thick cut, as I mentioned earlier. Of course, you may use any kind of bread you choose. Depending on the thickness of the bread pieces you use, cooking times may change.
Can I Make Roasted Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese in an Air Fryer?
Yes, you can! The jalapeño peppers can alternatively be roasted in an air fryer. Apply a little layer of olive oil to the peppers in the air fryer (just like you would if you were roasting them in the oven). After that, arrange them in a single layer inside the air fryer basket and roast at 425°F for 7 minutes.
Set an air fryer to 350°F and cover the basket with parchment paper before making the grilled cheese. Make the sandwich according to the directions below. After that, air fried for five minutes. After three minutes, turn the sandwiches over and continue to cook. Take out of the air fryer and serve right away.
