Best Pimento Cheese BLT Sandwich Recipe : The classic BLT sandwich may be dressed up with tangy and flavorful pimento cheese. To make this kind of pimento cheese thick and decadent, cream cheese is also used instead of mayo.
I’m not sure about opulent. However, this sandwich’s pimento cheese is really delicious! My mind is still attempting to reconnect after the kids’ nearly two-week illness. A particularly severe case of influenza A (insert preferred profanity).
The Kentucky Derby occurs this coming Saturday. Like with other “sporting” events, all that matters to me is the food that is served throughout the event.
Best Pimento Cheese BLT Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
- For the Pimento Cheese:
- 8oz Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 4oz Jar Diced Pimentos, drained
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 oz Softened cream cheese
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- For the Sandwiches:
- Pimento Cheese
- 1 head romaine lettuce
- 2-3 tomatoes, sliced
- 12 oz Center Cut Bacon
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 8 slices of bread
Instructions
Start the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Put foil on a large baking sheet. Put the bacon in a single layer. To get the bacon crispy, bake it for 12 to 15 minutes.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the pimento cheese while the bacon bakes. Mix everything together with a spoon. Until you’re ready to use it, keep it refrigerated in a sealed container.
Toast the bread pieces. Take one side of the sandwich and spread a little mayo on it. Drizzle a generous amount of pimento cheese onto the remaining piece. Top the mayo slice with the bacon, tomato, and lettuce. Put a slice of pimento on top. Slice in half and enjoy!
