At-Home Chex Mix Recipe – Easiest Recipe Ever: This homemade oven Chex mix recipe is the ideal snack for any occasion, whether it be a party, an afternoon snack, or any other time of day! This scrumptious snack mix is a combination of Chex cereal, pretzels, bagel chips, and other delicious flavours that come together to form a salty party mix that has a crunch!

I will be the first to admit that I am somewhat addicted to Chex Mix, I would even go so far as to say that I am addicted to snack foods in general, but Chex Mix is my main weakness. It is without a doubt my favourite snack, particularly when it is made from scratch. Aside from that, it is not simply the original Chex party mix.

At-Home Chex Mix Recipe – Easiest Recipe Ever

All of the Chex Mix varieties, including the cheddar, peanut, and even the sweet, are favourites of mine. Chex Mix has been my go-to snack ever since I was in high school, when I was always eating it. On top of that, there is pizza loaf. To put it simply, there is something about the combination that makes it the ideal snack combination.

Now, fast forward a few years, okay, a lot of years, and while I still enjoy a good handful of Chex Mix that I purchased from the store, what I absolutely crave is the stuff that I made myself. Something about homemade Chex Mix and the way the flavours all come together in a different way is so gratifying.

There is just something about it. In addition, although there are individuals who favour the microwave version, I personally favour this Chex Mix recipe that is prepared in the oven because everything turns out to be nice and crunchy.

Instructions

  • Set the oven temperature to 250 degrees. Paper parchment should be used to line a large baking sheet in the event that you do not have a roasting pan.
  • It is not necessary to line the roasting pan with parchment paper if you have a large metal roasting pan. An enormous bowl should be used to combine all of your snack foods, including cereal, pretzels, rye chips, and bagel chips.

  • Butter that has been melted, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and seasoned salt should be mixed together in a bowl until they are thoroughly combined.
  • Add the butter mixture to the cereal mixture in small increments, stirring it in so that it is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

  • Using a large roasting pan or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, pour the cereal that has been coated. In order to allow the cereal mixture to settle into a layer, shake it quickly.
  • The mixture should be stirred every 15 minutes while it is baking in the oven for one hour. After one hour, if the mixture is still wet, add fifteen more minutes to the process.

  • Take the dish out of the oven, take it out of the pan, and allow it to cool on the piece of parchment paper. For fifteen minutes, lay the roasting pan out on pieces of paper towels or parchment paper to cool down.
  • If you are using a roasting pan. After being stored in an airtight container, you can enjoy it right away or for up to four weeks.

Tips & Notes

  • It is recommended to gradually add a small amount of a seasoning to the mixture, stir it, and then add more of the seasoning. It will be easier to coat all of the cereal mixture with this method, preventing any one portion from becoming overly flavoured and soggy.
  • If there are some things that you might not enjoy, you can replace them with other snack items; however, you should make sure to maintain the same measurements (for example, substituting one cup of Cheerios for one cup of Chex).

  • The seasoning measurements will be off if you add in other things rather than substituting them for the ones that are already there. Because pretzels are the most significant component of this snack mix, you should look for the smallest ones you can find.
  • When the pretzels are smaller, they are able to fit into this mixture more easily. In order to ensure that you get some of the bagel and rye chips in almost every bite, you should break them up into small pieces and distribute them throughout the snack mix.
