3-Ingredient No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk (fat-free is fine to use)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ to 1 cup of add-ins, such as crushed cookie pieces, fruit, etc.

INSTRUCTIONS :

Allow a big bowl to cool down in the freezer for five to ten minutes, if you have time.

Put heavy whipped cream that is cold into the bowl. It will take about 5 to 6 minutes of beating with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form. (You can work your way up to medium speed from slow to avoid splatters.)

Put the vanilla and sweetened condensed milk in a small bowl and stir them together until they are well mixed.

Mix the sweetened condensed milk with the whipped cream in a bowl. Carefully fold the two mixtures together until they are well mixed.

Put the soft ice cream mixture into a container that can go in the freezer, like a 9×5 loaf pan, a small bowl, or a plastic container. Make sure the top is smooth. Wrap it up tightly in plastic wrap.

Freeze it for at least three hours to let it set. (It will be set for 6 hours, but most people find it ready to eat after 3–4 hours.)
Cover and put in the freezer for up to 10 days.

NOTES :

Heavy cream: I used heavy cream, which is the same thing as heavy whipped cream. One pint, which is about two cups, is needed. I haven’t tried this with any other meats.

Sweetened condensed milk: You can use a can of sweetened condensed milk with or without fat. Both have been used before. Make sure you don’t use evaporated milk.

Vanilla: Make sure you use REAL vanilla extract and not a fake one. It’s really important for the taste.

Storing: Cover the ice cream and put it in the freezer for up to two weeks.

Ideas for mix-ins (use ½-1 cup total):

Cream and cookies (Oreos broken up)

Fruits: Strawberry, blueberry, peach, etc. (fresh or frozen, chopped if large)

S’mores: small marshmallows, chocolate chips, and broken graham crackers
Chocolate chunks

Mint chocolate chip (slice Andes mints and mix them with chocolate chips or mint chocolate chips).
Snickers: sweet bars broken up

Toppings: You could also serve the vanilla ice cream straight and top it with any of your favorite things, like chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, chopped cookies or candies, sprinkles, and so on.
