Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts boneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup chicken broth low sodium
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Get the chicken ready. Make sure all of the chicken cubes are thoroughly coated with cornstarch by giving them a good shake in the mixture.

Saute the chicken. Melt the butter and warm up the olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. After adding the chicken pieces, sauté them for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Prepare the sauce. In the meantime, whisk together the garlic, honey, red pepper flakes, chicken broth, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

Mix everything together. Reduce the heat to low and cover the chicken in the skillet with the honey garlic sauce. Toss to combine all the ingredients, then simmer for a few more minutes to let the flavors merge.

After garnishing, serve. Serve right away with a side of steamed vegetables or over rice, garnished with fresh parsley.

Tips & Notes:

Cut the chicken into uniform 1-inch chunks. This will guarantee that they cook simultaneously and in the allotted seven minutes.
The chicken pieces won’t crisp up if they are packed too densely in the pan. If your skillet or pan isn’t large enough, cook in batches.

Keep any leftover chicken in the fridge for three to four days by placing it in an airtight container. This can be frozen for up to three months when kept in airtight containers!

How To Make Honey Garlic Chicken Bites

Prep the chicken. Toss the chicken cubes with the cornstarch well so that each piece is fully coated in cornstarch.

Cook the chicken. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.

Make the sauce. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine the garlic, red pepper flakes, honey, chicken broth, salt and pepper and whisk.

Toss everything together. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken in the skillet and turn down the heat to low. Toss everything together and continue cooking for a couple more minutes to allow all the flavors to meld together.

Garnish and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley, sprinkle with sesame seeds if you wish, and serve immediately over rice or with a side of steamed veggies.
