Former WWE Women’s Champ Gail Kim, Top TNA Officials Seen Backstage At Battleground ;- Recent matches by TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace on “WWE NXT” seem to indicate that TNA Wrestling and WWE have gotten closer in the last few months. Aside from Grace, a few TNA executives attended the “NXT” Battleground show.

“PWInsider” has revealed that Ariel Shnerer, the TNA executive producer, Gail Kim, a former TNA and WWE star, and Anthony Cicione, the TNA president, were all present backstage at the show on Sunday. Cicione took over for Scott D’Amore earlier this year. Jonathan Gresham, the TNA celebrity and spouse of Grace, was present at the ringside to witness his partner compete against Roxanne Perez, the “NXT” Women’s Champion.

Additionally, Ash By Elegance—who was formerly known as Dana Brooke in the WWE—returned to the organisation at the show. When “NXT’s” Tatum Paxley seemed to be taking Grace’s Knockouts belt, she intervened in the bout between Perez and Grace.

Wrestlers Who Had Brief Careers In Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling, which was founded in 2002 under the moniker NWA: Total Nonstop Action, has grown to be one of the most intriguing wrestling outfits in North America. It has experienced some amazing highs and the lowest of lows, yet it still holds a position in the wrestling industry.

Even with all the mistakes the people who created it have made over the years, there are still many positive aspects about it. The roster, which throughout the previous 20 years has included emerging stars, in-ring legends, unrivalled on-screen personalities, and more, is not the least of these attributes.

Over Impact Wrestling’s history, a few names have come to represent the sport. In addition to making their names known, players like Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles advanced the promotion. Icons like Kevin Nash, Sting, and Kurt Angle had the chance to show wrestling fans that they were still capable of competing between the ropes.

The Knockouts division additionally facilitated the establishment of women’s wrestling’s respectability during a critical period, thanks to the contributions of Awesome Kong, Gail Kim, and numerous other notable figures.

However, Impact Wrestling has added a few people to its roster that did not have as significant an impression on the organization’s past. These are some well-known wrestlers that visited the Impact Zone for a coffee before going completely missing.

Rowdy’ Roddy Piper

NWA-TNA’s roster included a solid mix of well-known names that were well-known to the general public and up-and-coming wrestling prodigies when the organisation started to gain momentum in 2002. One person that fits into the latter group is “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who was a major star in the industry in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

When he joined the company in December 2002, he got things off to a bad start right away. Piper performed a harsh promo to set up a feud with Vince Russo, in which he was explicitly linked to Owen Hart’s 1999 death and called out Russo for endangering anyone who steps inside the ropes.

After this contentious segment, Piper cut less eye-popping promos for the most of 2003 until making a physical return to the TNA Asylum in 2004. In an obvious parody of his legendary WWF talk show, Piper’s Pit, he revealed that he would be hosting his own section, In the Pit with Piper.

He interviewed Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, his former rival, at Victory Road 2004. A month later, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Hector Garza were on In the Pit with Piper. After that, Piper made his last TNA appearance at Final Resolution 2005, where he assisted Jeff Hardy in winning their bout by acting as a guest referee.

Rick Steiner

Scott Steiner worked closely with Impact Wrestling from 2006 to 2010, experiencing tremendous success in the process. He stood tall as a member of the Main Event Mafia, won the TNA World Tag Team Championships twice (first with Booker T and the second with Eli Drake), and may have given one of the best promos in professional wrestling history.

The fact that “Big Poppa Pump” wasn’t the first Steiner to enter the Impact Zone, though, is something that many people miss. In addition, “The Dog Faced Gremlin” Rick Steiner accepted the promotion, but with a significantly shorter term than his brother.

To put it mildly, Rick Steiner’s story in TNA is patchy at best. His debut was in the inaugural NWA-TNA event in 2002, but fans wouldn’t see him again until his surprise return in 2003. At Sacrifice 2006, three years later, he was made fun of as Sting’s possible partner; Samoa Joe eventually took his place.

As Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) fought him in 2007, he had a far more significant run with his brother Scott. Before TNA management let Rick Steiner to be released in early 2008, the two iconic tag teams competed against each other on pay-per-view for the entire year.

Xavier Woods (As Consequences Creed)

The New Day, which consists of Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods, is unquestionably one of the best stables in wrestling history. The group has thrived in the WWE tag team division since its formation in 2014, taking home gold in the championship and the admiration of fans worldwide.

Naturally, each member has maximised their solo careers in addition to their collective achievements, which include some of their biggest triumphs. For the most part of his early career, Woods performed alone, making his reputation as the stars-and-stripes-wearing Consequences Creed within TNA’s six-sided ring.

Following his debut in the TNA in 2007 at Bound for Glory (then going by the name Rasheed Lucius Creed), Creed started to feature frequently in the Impact Zone in 2008. In the fast-paced, hard-hitting X Division, he faced competitors like Sheikh Abdul Bashir and Sonjay Dutt, but he was never able to win the title.

He started working with fellow TNA talent Jay Lethal towards the close of the year, and the two of them formed the tag team Lethal Consequences, which went on to win the TNA Tag Team Championship in the middle of December. After being released from Impact Wrestling in March 2010, Creed’s career there came to an end.
