Bully Ray Says Last Thing WWE Fans Want With WWE WrestleMania 40 Comes Down To 1 Word: Only two weeks remain until WrestleMania 40. It’s like a Canadian hockey team trying to win the Stanley Cup for the first time since the early 1990s: it seems so close, but it’s still so far away. In turn, this gives many people in the wrestling world more time to think about the highly anticipated main events of the big show. On Night One, The Rock and Roman Reigns will face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. On Night Two, Rhodes will try to “finish the story” by challenging Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Bully Ray, a two-time Hall of Famer, is still not sure if Rhodes will finish his story. He even said there were times when he thought Rhodes wasn’t quite ready to become the WWE’s next big star. Even though he feels differently, Bully said on Monday’s “Busted Open Radio” that fans shouldn’t think about one thing if Rhodes quits as Universal Champion at WrestleMania.
“The last thing you want coming out of Night Two is Cody Rhodes is your new Universal Champion, but…,” the bully said. “There are no ifs or buts about Cody being named winner if he moves over. Like I said, I keep asking if he’s going over because things have changed in this business just hours before the match started. Mark has also seen this happen.
“Just because someone comes up with something they hadn’t seen for months and months before…do I think that’s going to happen here?” You can’t throw a crazy wrench into the whole machine, so no. Who knows what they’ve built on the back end for advertising, etc. But stuff like this does happen.
