Air Fryer Beignets Recipe -Step by Step Guide
Ingredients :
- ½ cup milk
- 1 package (8g) active dry yeast
- 2 large eggs
- 6 tablespoons (85g) butter
- 6 tablespoons (75g) granulated sugar
- 2 ½ cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (64g) powdered sugar
Instructions :
Put yeast, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and milk in the bowl of a stand mixer. This will help you make the dough. Leave for at least five minutes.
In the meantime, heat the butter in a small bowl and mix it well with the eggs and vanilla.
To the yeast mixture, add the rest of the sugar, the flour, and the salt.
On low speed, beat for about one minute, until the ingredients are just mixed together. Then, slowly add the egg and butter mixture.
Then keep beating on medium speed for another four minutes, or until a smooth, stretchy dough forms.
Roll the dough into a ball and put it in a big bowl that has been lightly greased. To make the dough double in size, cover it and let it rise for about an hour.
Warm the air fryer up to 180 degrees C/350 degrees F.
Put some flour on a surface and roll out the dough until it’s about a quarter of an inch thick.
Use a round cookie tool to cut the dough. You can also use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut it into squares.
Spray cooking spray on the air fryer basket, then add the beignets. Spread melted butter or canola spray on the beignets and leave room between them.
After 4 minutes, flip the beignets over and cook for another 4 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Put the beignets on a rack to cool. Brush more melted butter on top of the warm cakes, and then sprinkle crushed sugar on top.
Notes :
You don’t need a stand machine to make dough. You can mix it with a wooden spoon and knead it by hand.
Let the dough rest for at least an hour so it can rise properly. Depending on the weather and elevation in your area, this could take longer.
If you want to make rectangles, you can use a pizza cutter or a cookie cutter.
Keep the dough from touching the air fryer.
Melt some butter and brush it on top.
Beignets can be cooked in an air fryer in groups if needed.
So that it doesn’t dry out, put plastic wrap over the dough between runs.
The beignets can get soggy if you stack them.
Spread them out on a baking sheet and put it in a low oven while you cook the beignets in batches. This will keep them warm.
