The World’s 5 Top Bucket List Trips In 2024: Many people still look forward to taking trips on their “bucket list.” But what are the world’s best bucket list trips in 2024?

People from the United States can visit a lot of places around the world, but these seven stand out as the most popular trips for experienced tourists. We did a lot of research to make this list, so it’s not something we just made up.

The World’s 5 Top Bucket List Trips In 2024

Adventure vacation company Skyhook got this information by asking more than 4,000 people about the trips on their “bucket list” for the coming year. A lot of these things on the bucket list are common, but some of them are new, even for brave tourists. Let’s look at the list of the world’s best trips for 2024.

1. See The Northern Lights

Seeing the northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, is always at the top of people’s lists of things they want to do before they die. It is expected that the solar activity will be especially strong in 2024, resulting in some of the most beautiful shows seen in years.

People often go to Arctic places like northern Norway, Iceland (where there are hotels with great views), and Canada’s Yukon to see this celestial event.

The best time to see them is from September to March, when the clouds are the darkest and the lights are the brightest. To have the best chance of seeing this amazing event, you should go on more than one day.

2. Trek The Inca Trail To Machu Picchu

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most famous hiking routes in the world. It combines beautiful scenery with a lot of history. I personally want to go on that hike in the next couple of years.

Usually, the hike lasts for four days and ends with a view of the old citadel of Machu Picchu at sunrise. To avoid the wet season, the best time to go on this trip is between June and August. The trek can cost different amounts.

Most group tours cost between $500 and $1,000, based on how comfortable they are and what services they offer.

3. Visit The Galápagos Islands

For nature lovers, the Galápagos Islands are a must-see because they are home to species that can’t be found anywhere else on Earth.

This faraway group of islands in the Pacific Ocean is best seen from December to May, when the weather is calmer and there is lots of wildlife. Prices for visitors can range from $2,000 to $6,000, based on how long the trip is and how fancy it is.

4. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

At 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and a goal for many daring hikers. A lot of different kinds of people can climb Kilimanjaro because it is both difficult and not too technical.

From June to October or January to March, when it’s dry, is the best time to climb. Costs for this trip depend on the route and amount of support picked. They are usually between $2,000 and $4,000.

5. Cruise In Antarctica

An Antarctic cruise is the ideal trip for people who want to see wild and remote places. You can see huge icebergs and see strange scenery on this icy continent. You can also meet unique animals like penguins and seals.

Also, if you can, you should go to a few of the sub-Antarctic islands. The best time for this kind of trip is in the summer in the Southern Hemisphere, from November to March. Depending on the ship and schedule, Antarctic cruises can cost anywhere from $6,000 to $15,000 or more.
