Cajun Shrimp with Tomato Alfredo Pasta – Simplest Recipe Ever: This recipe is for an easy Cajun Shrimp with Tomato Alfredo Pasta, which consists of wonderfully sautéed Cajun-seasoned shrimp combined with a creamy Tomato Alfredo sauce! You can whip up this immensely tasty dish in less than 30 minutes with just a few simple ingredients!

 

 

 

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta (uncooked, such as fettuccine)
  • 12 ounces large shrimp (uncooked, shells removed)
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 15 ounces crushed tomatoes ((1 can))
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 1 ounce Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 3 leaves fresh basil (chopped for garnish)

 

Instructions

Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta.

Add the cajun seasoning to the shrimp while the pasta cooks. One tablespoon of olive oil should be heated on medium-high heat in a big skillet. In a matter of minutes, add the shrimp and cook on both sides until they turn pink. After taking the shrimp out of the skillet, set it aside.

When the butter melts over medium heat, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet along with the butter. When the onion is tender and transparent, add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes.

After adding the crushed tomatoes to the skillet, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about five minutes. stirring occasionally.

Cook for an additional five minutes after adding the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to the skillet. When necessary, add salt and pepper to taste.

Include the cooked pasta and shrimp in the skillet, being sure to thoroughly combine everything.

Serve right away after adding extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil as garnish.

Notes

You can use light cream or half and half to reduce the number of calories.

If you are not a fan of shrimp, you can substitute ground beef or sausage.

Add salt to the water you use for pasta. It’s important to season the pasta thoroughly when cooking any kind of noodles. Thus, use a tablespoon or so of salt.
