What are Taquitos?

  • One of the most popular dishes in Mexico, tacos can be served as an appetiser, a snack, or even as the main course for dinner.
  • First, stuff a little tortilla with meat and cheese, and then roll it up as tightly as you can. Deep frying is the typical method of cooking once it has been rolled up, however baking is another option.

Baked Chicken Taquitos Ingredients:

  • I love this recipe! It’s simple to create and uses pantry staples.
  • Complete the chicken filling by mixing them.
  • 2 cups of chicken that has been cooked and shredded
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese; 1/3 cup of salsa
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of green onion that has been finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of cilantro that has been finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1 cup of Colby Jack cheese; 8-10 small flour tortillas

How to Make Homemade Chicken Taquitos :

1 . Prepare baking sheet

  • The oven should be preheated to 425 degrees, and a baking sheet should be prepared by coating it with cooking spray and lining it with aluminum foil. Put aside for later.

2 . Combine filling ingredients

  • Use the microwave for approximately fifteen to twenty seconds to soften the cream cheese. The ingredients for the salsa, cream cheese, cumin, chilli powder, garlic powder, lime juice, and salt should be mixed together in a mixing bowl.
  • The shredded chicken, colby jack cheese, green onions, and cilantro should be added at this next step. Stir until everything is thoroughly incorporated.

3 . Fill tortillas

  • About three tablespoons of the chicken mixture should be added to the flour tortilla, such that it is about one inch away from the edge. Place it on the baking sheet with the seam side down after you have rolled it up.
  • Repeat with each one, and set them on the baking sheet approximately one inch apart, so that they do not contact each other.

4 . Bake until brown and serve

  • The tortilla should be baked for fifteen to twenty minutes, or until it begins to softly brown around the edges. Serve with ranch dressing, sour cream, or any other sauce of your choosing!
