Ingredients
Asian Steak Marinade
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic 4 cloves using garlic press, if no garlic press, use 2-3 cloves finely minced
- 3 tablespoons of fresh ginger 3 tablespoon using garlic press, if no garlic press, use 1–1.5 tablespoon finely minced
- 2 tablespoon light brown sugar (lightly packed)
- 1 tablespoon Optional: crushed red pepper for hot chili oil
Instructions
Asian Marinade for Steak
- Grate the ginger and garlic coarsely or use a garlic press.
- Put all the ingredients in a jar and give it a good shake.
- Choose your meat, add marinade, and marinate for desired amount of time.
- Save the leftover marinade after you’re done marinating so you may make a demi glace or optional pan sauce.
Optional: Demi Glace or Pan Sauce
- Bring the remaining marinade to a boil in a sauce pan.
- Remove from heat and reduce to a thick sauce, stirring constantly.
- Add the butter right away, and use a fork to stir it around until it melts and blends into the thick sauce.
Note:
- The flavors will be more concentrated the more you reduce them. If the sauce is more reduced, you might want to add extra butter. This will depend on what each person wants.
