Instructions

In a big pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter and olive oil. Put chopped garlic in the pan and cook for one minute, until the garlic smells good.

Put the shrimp in the pan and raise the heat to medium-high. Add the shrimp to the pan with paprika, salt, and pepper.

Cook for two to three minutes on each side, until they turn pink and opaque. Pour the lemon juice over the shrimp and toss them around to cover them all. Add chopped parsley as a garnish before serving.

Expert Tips

Pick Good Shrimp: Pick fresh shrimp or good frozen shrimp. Try to find ones that are firm, clear, and have a light sea smell.

Don’t boil: Shrimp cook quickly, so watch out not to boil them, which can make them tough. When they turn pink and cloudy, they’re done.

Infuse Flavor: For the best flavor, let the garlic soak into the butter and oil before you add the shrimp. You can change how much garlic you use to your liking.

Changes: You can make your garlic shrimp your own by adding things like chopped tomatoes, red pepper flakes for heat, or white wine for more depth.

Fresh Herbs: Fresh parsley gives the dish a burst of freshness, but you can also use mint or chives for a different taste.

Notes

If someone has an allergy to shellfish, you should be aware when you serve garlic shrimp. You can use chicken or tofu instead of shrimp to get the same taste.

Garlic shrimp that you have left over can be kept in the fridge for up to three days in a sealed container. To keep from overcooking, reheat slowly.

If you want to make a filling meal, serve garlic shrimp with pasta, rice, or toasted bread. Fill up your plate with a side salad or steamed veggies.

Pairing wine: Serve garlic shrimp with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay that has a light body.
