Green Goddess Salad Bowls with Salmon Recipe

Have you seen or tried the salad that went popular on TikTok?

There you have it. If you’re like me and find out about these trends after the fact, this is the main idea.

For Green Goddess Salad, you mix green cabbage, Persian cucumbers, chives, green onions, and a green goddess dressing that you make yourself. There are now thousands of different versions of this well-known salad recipe. Today I’m going to show you my own take on green goddess salad. It has perfectly cooked, crispy salmon on top to make a full meal.

This is not at all a true copy of the original recipe.

Green Goddess Dressing:

Green Goddess Salad Dressing has been a hit for years because it makes any salad taste great with its fresh, creamy, and herb-filled flavor.

I actually shared my Mayo-Free Green Goddess Dressing recipe back in 2014. Since then, it’s been one of the salad dressing recipes that people visit this site the most.

Light dressings are a great way to cut down on calories and excess fat. They are made with Greek yogurt instead of canola oil or mayonnaise.

Loads of fresh herbs, like fresh parsley, basil, and chives, are often added to Green Goddess Salad.

The dressing that was in the popular TikTok video is like a veggie pesto sauce. Fresh herbs, healthy yeast, and walnuts are used instead of pine nuts and parmesan cheese to make it.

We’re going against the grain with this recipe by keeping all the ingredients as simple as possible and using avocado to make the easiest and tastiest dressing.

Green Goddess Salad Ingredients:

I put together shredded cabbage, chopped spring greens, cucumber, green onions, and herbs for the salad.

I like to add darker veggies to my salad along with the cabbage to make it softer and give it more nutrients.

It’s okay to use any fresh greens you like instead of the spring greens. For example, you could use more cabbage instead of the spring greens.

This salad recipe makes enough for three people or two very hungry people. Depending on how much everyone usually eats, I would recommend making more salmon, salad, and dressing if you’re cooking for more than three people.

Now let’s make it!

How to Make Green Goddess Salmon Bowls:

Make the Salad:

Put the cabbage and spring greens that have been chopped into a big mixing bowl or serving bowl. Add the green onions, chives, and sunflower seeds.

Put the avocados, fresh lemon juice, chopped garlic, and sea salt in a small bowl. Mash the avocados until they are smooth.

Add the mashed avocado to the bowl with the salad greens. Using salad tongs, toss everything together until the greens are covered in the thick sauce. It will look like the salad isn’t prepared, but once you give it a good stir and taste it, you’ll notice that it has a rich flavor and a smooth texture.

You can taste the salad and add more sea salt and/or lemon juice if you like. To make the taste stronger, you can drizzle some balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar, or dijon mustard on top. You can also add a little olive oil or avocado oil to make it smoother if you want to.

Putting the salad bowl in the fridge will keep it cool while you prepare the salmon. While the salmon is cooking, you can also make the salad. However, I find that the salad takes a little more time to chop.

Prepare the Salmon:

Spray or cover a baking sheet or serving dish with cooking oil to make it big. Put one or more salmon filets in the baking dish and drizzle them with avocado oil.

Cover the salmon with oil, either with your hands or a silicone brush.Put a lot of garlic powder and sea salt on top. Add any extra spices you want, like paprika, lemon pepper, or something else.Turn on the High Broil setting on your oven. You don’t need to heat up the oven ahead of time because once it’s on high, it will heat up quickly.

Put the salmon on the third-from-top shelf.

Putting the salmon on the top shelf closest to the heat source is not a good idea because the fat from the fish could splash out. The fat can start a fire inside the oven if it hits the top element. Let’s stay away from that. For 8 to 12 minutes, or until it’s done the way you like it, broil the salmon.

After taking the salmon out of the oven, let it sit for at least five minutes before you serve it.

Put green goddess salad in two or three salad bowls, and then put salmon on top of each bowl. Have fun eating this tasty food!

You can keep salad that you don’t need right away for up to 24 hours in a container that won’t let air in. You can keep extra salmon in the fridge for up to 5 days in a different container that won’t let air in.

Recipe Adaptations:

You can use any way you like to cook the salmon. It’s quick and easy to roast salmon, like in My Go-To Crispy Salmon Recipe. But you can also pan-sear or grill salmon and it will be great!

You can also use my recipe for Crispy Skillet Salmon, Easy Smoked Salmon, or Grilled Salmon.

The Best fish Marinade can also be used to prepare the fish.

You can bake your favorite chicken breasts or legs or buy cooked chicken from the store if you’d rather eat chicken than salmon. This is one of my favorite ways to use leftover chicken.

When you’re hungry for meat, make a Perfect Grilled Steak to go with the green salad.

And that’s it, everyone! A simple, healthy dinner meal that you’ll want to make again and again!

This low-carb dinner is great because it’s full of protein and healthy fats that make you feel good.
