Delicious Fresh Turmeric Tea Recipe – Learn With Experts

It gets cloudy and cold in Bangalore sometimes, and you just want to wrap your hands around a hot drink and let the steam touch your face.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 inchs turmeric piece of fresh root
  • 4 – 5 black pepper corns
  • 2 – 3 ginger slices fresh
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 2 tsps honey

Instruction

Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. Peel the turmeric, cut it into slices, and use a pestle or something heavy to crush the slices.

The pepper corns and ginger slices should be broken up. Put the ginger, peppercorns, and crushed turmeric in a tea egg or a piece of muslin cloth.

Then, drop this into the pot of water. (You can also just add the ingredients to the water if you want to.)

Once the water starts to boil, turn down the heat, cover, and let it cook for 6 to 8 minutes. Take out the tea egg or use a fine-mesh sieve to get rid of the spices.

Put some into each of the two cups and mix in the honey. Enjoy it while it’s still warm.

Notes

Note: You can use 1/2 tsp of ground turmeric instead of the fresh root and follow the same steps. Use a fine-meshed sieve to strain the tea.
