NOTES

Large or medium-sized prawns are what I suggest.

In this dish, I utilised kosher salt. Reduce the salt to ¼ teaspoon if you are using table salt.

You can toss the prawns to coat after adding them to a bowl with oil and spice.

The dish can be doubled, but make sure to cook the prawns in stages to allow appropriate air circulation around the food. Keep the air fryer basket empty.

Popcorn shrimp are not a good fit for this dish.

Helpful tips!

The prawns should not be sprayed inside the basket or tray of an air fryer. The oil spray will adhere to your appliance’s walls, bake in, and be difficult to remove. For this reason, I combine spices with olive oil and brush the prawns instead of using a spray in this recipe. Alternatively, throw prawns in a bowl with oil and spice, then toss to coat!

Obtain the biggest prawn possible. Popcorn shrimp, or even small shrimp, are tiny when roasted, thus I don’t suggest them.

Shrimp will cook more quickly the smaller they are. For this recipe, I used huge prawns, and I found that 8 minutes worked well. Six minutes is the timing for medium prawns.

You are welcome to substitute your preferred seasoning blend, such as Cajun, lemon pepper, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, etc., for the seasoning.

In this recipe, I utilise kosher salt. The ½ teaspoon was just right, but if you use table salt, half a teaspoon might be too much. Reduce it to a half a teaspoon.
